Welcome to Ms. Boelte's First Grade Class!
Welcome to our class website. It is my hope that this site will be both informational and a means of strengthening our classroom community. Here you will be able to tap into resources concerning the importance of play in the curriculum, how we are meeting state standards in developmentally appropriate ways, our classroom environment, my philosophy on classroom management, and finally how assessment is used in our classroom. You will also have access to resources addressing common family concerns and challenges.

Allow me to tell you a little more about myself. In 2006 I graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelors of Science in Geographic Science. After spending several years in America's Southwest, I returned to James Madison and earned a Master of Arts in Teaching Early Childhood Education, certified to teach PreK through Third grade. This is my fourth year teaching First grade at Sunny Meadows Elementary, and it has been a blast! I am also the parent of a young child, and thus understand both the joys and challenges of parenthood.
This year, we are fortunate to have an amazing amount of diversity in our class. Within our classroom, we have students who speak Russian, French, Kurdish and Spanish; I look forward to our class learning more about foreign languages and cultural diversity. I believe that a strong classroom community is greatly enhanced by parent involvement, and I invite you to come get involved with our fun and learning!
